自伦敦书展在2012年将中国作为其“主宾国”以来,我们不断与期望在中国开展业务的外国出版商以及希望拓展国际市场的中国出版商建立合作关系。

事实上,中国出版商在伦敦书展的对内和对外版权交易、发展框架和活动组织方面的参与度越来越高。虽然语言障碍问题仍然是中国出版业对外增长面临的一个主要挑战,但伦敦书展和中国出版集团等中国出版商紧密合作,通过提供一个向国际同行展示自我的平台,帮助他们克服挑战。中国顶尖作家的2000本英文文集曾亮相今年的伦敦书展。

今年,伦敦书展将和中国出版集团等主要出版集团以及北京国际书展等中国主要的出版活动联合开展更多教育类项目。

目前,伦敦书展每月向中国所有出版商推送中文电子快讯,并且注册了官方微信公众号(微信号:伦敦书展)。

我们很高兴看到有五家中国公司在4月份入围由独立裁判组评选出的“2015伦敦书展国际卓越成就奖”。从译作、成人书籍出版到开创性技术,我们很高兴能够向国际读者展示目前中国出版业取得的最优秀成果。另外,我们很高兴与中国出版集团下属的中国对外翻译出版有限公司(CTPC)开展翻译业务合作。CTPC为2015年伦敦书展的相关会议提供了高质量的同声翻译服务。

2014年11月,伦敦书展联合上海国际儿童书展举办了跨媒体论坛,邀请了沃克出版公司和企鹅兰登书屋的国际知名专家,以及中国各大出版商。我们发现,许多中国儿童出版商正在创新儿童书籍内容获取方式,并且走在媒体界的前沿。

2015年伦敦书展首次设置“创意产业日”,我们期待与中国出版集团在首次创意产业论坛上开展合作。这次论坛将在北京国际书展期间举办,恰逢“2015英中文化交流年”。

我个人感觉与中国出版界,尤其是中国出版集团的同仁们共事十分愉快、有趣和有益。我们祝愿参加2015年美国图书博览会(BEA)的中国同仁们好运。我确信他们能够取得如伦敦书展上“中国市场焦点”一样的成功。

Since The LondonBook Fair welcomed China as its Market Focus country in 2012, we have continuedto build our relationship with publishers seeking to do business with China andChinese publishers looking to extend their reach on the international stage.

Indeed Chinesepublishers’ involvement inLBF has grown enormously in terms of inbound and outbound rightssales, profile and events. Although language is still one major challengefacing the outbound growth of China's publishing industry, The LBF team hasworked extensively with Chinese publishers such as the ChinaPublishing Group to help them overcome challenges by providing a platform toshowcase their titles to international publishers.  At this year’s London BookFair, 2000 anthologies in English, showcasing top Chinese writers, weredistributed across the book fair.

This year LBF isincreasing our joint education initiatives with key publishing groups like CPGand also with key Chinese publishing events like Beijing International BookFair.

LBF has started a monthlye-newsletter in Chinese to all the publishers in China, and an official Wechatchannel (微信:伦敦书展).

It’s fantastic tosee five Chinese companies shortlisted for the independently-judged LBFInternational Excellence Awards 2015 in April. We are delighted to be able toshowcase the best that is going on within Chinese publishing at the moment,from translation to adult publishing to pioneering technology, to aninternational audience. On the subject of translation we were really pleased tocollaborate with China Translation and Publishing Corporate (CTPC), part ofCPG, who provided simultaneous translations for our conferences at LBF15.

In November 2014,LBF co-hosted a Transmedia Forum at the Shanghai International Children's BookFair bringing in leading international experts from Walker Books and PenguinRandom House, alongside key Chinese publishers. We found many Chinesechildren's publishers who are pioneering new ways to get book content tochildren – on the cutting edge across all media they work with.

As The LondonBook Fair launches the first ‘Creative Industries Day’ at LBF 2015, we arelooking forward to collaborating with China Publishing Group on the 1stCreative Industries Forum, which will take place at the Beijing InternationalBook Fair to coincide with the UK China Year of Culture 2015.

On a personalnote, I find working with our Chinese publishing colleagues – particularly CPG –fascinating, rewarding and fun.  We wishall the Chinese publishers taking part in BEA the best of luck. I am sure itwill be as successful for everyone as China Market Focus at The London BookFair was.
